Private bar service in your event space is available upon request. This option provides added convenience and flexibility for your guests. Alternatively, guests are welcome to purchase beverages directly from our bars located on campus (Old Fifth & Charlie Foster’s).
Yes, birthday cake or cupcakes are allowed for your event.
All setup and teardown—including catering and vendor load in/out—must be within your contracted timeframe. If you want your party to continue, you will need to move to a common Stovehouse space on campus. We keep a tight schedule of private rentals that includes cleaning time!

Prior to your event, your Experience Manager will contact you to ask how you’d like the room set up. We are happy to offer suggestions based on your event’s needs!
You may hang decorations or signs on the glass windows and decorate the tables. Balloons and free-standing decorations are also allowed. Do not hang decorations or signs on walls, from wooden beams, shelving, etc. Painter’s tape must be used if tape is needed.
The renter is obligated to cover any damages done to the room during their event.
No. We have linenless brushed metal tables that are very nice and go with the unique industrial theme of The Canteen. You are welcome to bring in your own tablecloths if desired.
Your computer can be connected to the television using an HDMI cable, or a USB stick may be directly inserted to the television to display a presentation. *Please make sure you have any adaptors required to convert your computer to HDMI.
We have provided curtains, and you may close the doors for privacy. However, you are likely to hear all the activity happening nearby at Stovehouse.
We do not advise live entertainment for this space, due to the room size and proximity to the Leisure Lawn. To enjoy music during your event, the space is equipped with an audio system that can been connected to via AUX cord. *Client must provide personal device to connect.
Some guests have also enjoyed taking advantage of the entertainment provided on the Leisure Lawn during their event. *Please visit this link to see what live entertainment may be taking place during your event!
If live entertainment is vital to your event, please inquire about our several other venue spaces that can accommodate.
To fully open or close the curtains, please call 256-957-6101 for assistance; however, you may pull them back to the tiebacks whenever you wish.
Weather permitting, the garage doors may be opened. A campus host will greet you at the start of your reservation time and can assist you in doing so.
For events on Mondays-Fridays before 4PM, there will be an Experience Manager available to you who can be reached at 256-957-6100.
For all events Mondays-Fridays after 4PM and all events on Saturdays & Sundays, there will be Campus Host available to you who can be reached at 256-957-6101 during your event.
